PIZZA BOX FAQ's

Answers are based on a 32cm Francia Pizza Box

How much

How much does it cost?

The price you pay will depend on three main factors; the box size, the base material (matt, gloss, aluminium-lined), and the number of colours to print. There is a one-off setup cost which is for creating the printing plates (one for each colour). The average price per plate is £200, so a white box printed in green, red and black will need a total of 3 plates - £600.

Box prices start at 18p per box, and boxes come in packs of 100.

How long

How long will it take?

The amount of time spent designing the box and producing the artwork will depend on the complexity of the design and the quality of the logo you supply to our artwork department.

You will be sent layout proofs to check throughout the design process. When you are happy to proceed to the production phase, you will need to pay for the setup, and your order will be placed. From this point the turn around time is between 6 and 8 weeks*.

*This is the average lead time. We will inform you as soon as possible if your order is delayed.

Min order

Is there a minimum order?

The minimum order quantity is 2 pallets of each type/size of box ordered.

12" pizza boxes come in packs of 100, and there are 45 packs per pallet. 2 pallets will be a total of 9000 boxes.

If you order, for example, a 12" box and a 16" box - even if the designs are the same, each box will be treated as a separate order, so you will have to order 2 pallets of each size.

Furthermore, each box will need its own set of printing plates, so if the design uses 2 colours then you will need to pay for 4 plates.

Can I use my own design?

Design

If you wish to supply your own design and artwork files you will need to use a specific template for each box (which we will send to you via email). The artwork you supply will need to be created in Adobe Illustrator, using Pantone colours, and ALL text in the layout must be converted to outlines. If your design only uses black you must use CMYK black and not RGB. Save as Adobe PDF.

If you place any images in the design they must be CMYK (jpg, tif) and not less than 300dpi. Do not use PNG files.

Your artwork will be checked by our graphics department and you will be notified if anything needs to be altered.

The design should allow for movement on the press, so close register and fine detail are things to avoid.
